We know engagement is important to you (it’s important to us too!), and ensuring your people get the most out of their coaching experience is top of mind.
Read on for best practice tips to help participants keep up their momentum with your coaching program. For added motivation, we’ve included quotes from real Torch participants to illustrate what your people stand to gain from coaching.
Encourage participants to schedule recurring meetings
In addition to saving participants time, recurring meetings encourage participants who may get sidetracked to stay engaged. When scheduling a meeting, participants have the flexibility to customize the frequency (every week, every other week, or every 4 weeks) and duration of a recurring meeting series (ending after 2, 3, or 4 occurrences, or at the end of the program).
“A good coach is a sounding board, a strategist, your personal champion and more. An open and transparent engagement with your coach is empowering, stimulating and inspiring.”
Namrata, Torch Coaching Participant
Share ideas for how participants can leverage their coaching meetings
Not every participant joins a coaching meeting with a clear picture in their mind of where they want to begin. To ensure participants have easy access to topic ideas they can use to jumpstart the conversation with their coaches, share our 22 Ways to Leverage Your Torch Coaching Meetings article with your participants. We provide prompts around career development, executive presence, confidence and personal brand, team leadership and communication, and balance and productivity.
“It’s okay to not know exactly what you need coaching for. A good coach will meet you where you are, and challenge you to find areas where they can support your growth. I am 100% confident I would not have reached some of my goals, or weathered some of my career challenges so successfully without my coaches.”

Bring participants together
Consider creating a channel specifically for coaching participants on your organization’s messaging platform of choice. You can also set up optional virtual coffee meets or office hours for participants to get to know each other and share their coaching experiences.
“The real value of coaching comes from the continuous journey of reflection, learning, and applying new perspectives in your daily work. It challenges you to step out of your comfort zone and think in ways you may not have considered before. Most importantly, it’s an investment in yourself that pays off in ways you might not expect—from improved relationships to better decision-making and greater confidence as a leader.”

Check in with participants at key moments
It makes participants feel good that someone is invested in their progress and rooting for them to succeed. Make your support known by checking in at the program halfway point, and encouraging participants to reflect on their experience and how they can make the most out of the remainder of their time in coaching. Check out our “Keep Up the Momentum” email template as a starting point.
In addition to managing action items on your Torch dashboard, we also recommend reaching out to participants directly to nudge them on next steps as needed.
“It was tough to see how I was missing some key elements in how I was leading my team. My coach was able to help me visualize the areas to work on and then offer real life advice for how to improve.”
Robert, Torch Coaching Participant
Create FOMO
There’s not many feelings as powerful as the Fear Of Missing Out. Share positive quotes from individual coaching participants with the larger group, or include a spotlight section in a team, department or organization-wide meeting for participants to tell the story of their coaching experience. Not only will this likely encourage new people to voice their interest in coaching, it can help motivate current participants to stay engaged.
“The one thing I found surprising was how profound the impact of coaching has been on my personal life and my growth as a human being. The work I did with my coach went far beyond the professional sphere; it went to the core of who I am and what I value. I’ve taken away invaluable life lessons from this experience, not just career guidance.”
