Torch 360 allows you to reflect on your leadership and gather feedback from your colleagues as part of your coaching journey. Learn more about the experience and what to expect in this article.

What is Torch 360?

Torch 360 is a two-part process for collecting actionable feedback and measuring your leadership growth in coaching. It includes:

  • 360 Feedback - At the start of coaching, 360 Feedback gives you the opportunity to reflect on your strengths, growth areas, and the challenges you see in your organization. You’ll also invite your manager and colleagues to provide qualitative feedback on your leadership. The focus is on real-life examples to guide coaching, not abstract ratings.

  • 360 Impact - Toward the end of coaching, 360 Impact measures the progress you’ve made. You’ll reflect on how you’ve grown as a leader and the changes you’ve made in your work and life. The same trusted colleagues who contributed to 360 Feedback will be automatically invited to share the improvements they’ve observed in your leadership.

Why it matters

Torch 360 ties your coaching experience to real leadership growth. The experience:

  • Shapes your coaching journey - You and your coach will use 360 Feedback insights to guide your development and focus your coaching journey on the leadership areas you need to strengthen most.

  • Provides clear evidence of change - 360 Impact gives you tangible proof of how you’ve grown as a leader and helps identify opportunities for your continued development beyond coaching.

How 360 Feedback works

Here’s a quick overview of the 360 Feedback experience and insights you can expect.

Experience overview

You’ll typically complete your 360 Feedback soon after matching with your coach or finishing your first coaching meeting.

When you get started, you’ll be introduced to the core concept of leadership capacities, the skills and mindsets that are important for effective leadership. You’ll review the main leadership capacities your organization has selected for your coaching program, including what they mean and examples of what they might look like in action.

Next you’ll complete a 3-question self-reflection on your strengths, growth opportunities, and the challenges you face in your organization. An AI feedback evaluator will offer guidance along the way to ensure your responses are as detailed as possible.

Once you’ve submitted your responses, you’ll invite your manager and at least 4 other colleagues (like direct reports, peers, and cross-functional partners) to share their feedback, including specific examples of how your organization’s selected leadership capacities show up in your day-to-day work.

Torch Tip: To ensure you reach the 5-response minimum required to receive your results, we recommend inviting more than 5 people to share feedback.

360 Feedback insights shared with you

Your coach will debrief your 360 Feedback results with you, helping to identify what you want to focus on in coaching. You’ll get access to:

  • A high-level summary of your leadership strengths and growth opportunities

  • A separate section specifically for insights from your manager

  • A summary of your colleagues’ feedback related to each of your organization’s selected leadership capacities

  • “Possibilities” to explore for strengthening leadership capacities (these are examples to guide your initial discussions with your coach)

  • The verbatim qualitative feedback that aligns with each insight

How 360 Impact works

Here’s a quick overview of the 360 Impact experience and insights you can expect.

Note: 360 Impact is coming soon and may not be included in your coaching program.

Experience overview

Your 360 Impact will be sent to you when there’s one week left in your coaching program. You’ll complete a short self-reflection on the progress you’ve made since working with your Torch coach.

After submitting your responses, the same colleagues who contributed to your 360 Feedback will be automatically invited to share their perspectives on the improvements they’ve observed in your leadership.

Note: For coaching programs under 2 months, only your manager will be invited to contribute to 360 Impact.

360 Impact insights shared with you

Your 360 Impact report will highlight how you’ve shifted your behavior and where you may want to focus next. The insights will be a natural guidepost in wrapping up your coaching partnership and setting the stage for your continued leadership development journey beyond coaching.

Receiving your results

You’ll get an email notification and a new task on your coaching dashboard when your 360 Feedback or 360 Impact results are ready. Results are automatically released to you and your coach once at least 5 feedback providers have submitted responses and:

  • All invited colleagues submitted their feedback or

  • 21 days have passed since the invitations were sent
