Find answers to the most common questions about the new Torch coaching experience here, and check out our walkthrough video below to see it in action.
What’s changed in my account?
The same resources you previously had access to within your partnership path have moved to the Torch Home screen. Our simple and intuitive dashboard design allows you to easily find the essential items for your coaching engagement. You can now complete action items, schedule and join coaching meetings, and access learning tools, all in one place.
Additionally, the dashboard only shows information and tasks that are currently relevant to where you are in your coaching engagement and that you can immediately take action on. This ensures you stay on track and know exactly what you need to focus on next.
The new Home dashboard is organized into the following key sections:
Coaching details - Here you’ll find your coaching start and end dates, the duration of your coaching engagement, and a quick-link to message your coach.
TORCH TIP: You’ll now be able to access all of your messages in the top navigation bar. |
Action items - Any important tasks you need to complete will be listed here, like your 360 assessment, program surveys, and colleague feedback requests. Click Complete task beneath an action item to get started. Once you complete a task, it will no longer appear on your dashboard.
Meetings - In this section, you can schedule a meeting with your coach and view a list of upcoming meetings. Click into a meeting to see more details and RSVP. To see all meetings, including your past meetings, click View all at the top.
Learning tools - Displays your growth activities, including your 360 assessment and learning goals, as well as any resources that may be helpful to you throughout your coaching engagement.
Why did Torch make this change?
We heard your feedback: the news-feed format of the previous coaching experience surfaced a lot of information all at once, making it difficult to navigate the platform and understand exactly what you should be focused on.
Instead of showing all future action items and resources, the new Home dashboard takes a different approach by curating the information you need to see and presenting it when you need to see it. Our goal is to ensure you have a streamlined experience that’s free from distractions and helps you easily identify the relevant actions you need to take to continue making progress through your coaching journey.
How does this impact my in-progress coaching program?
We’ve outlined what’s different below.
You can now request feedback from colleagues outside of the 360 assessment. You now have access to the Colleague Feedback feature, which allows you to ask your colleagues about the growth they’ve seen in you at work since you started meeting with your Torch coach. Depending on the length of your coaching program, the “Request feedback from colleagues” action item will appear in Month 5 (for 6-month programs), or in both Month 5 and Month 9 (for 12-month programs). The feedback will give you clear guidance on what’s working and what areas of change you should prioritize next, helping you get even more out of your coaching experience.
The Messages section has replaced Resource-specific discussions. Previously, you would receive an email notification about comments added on individual article, activity, or meeting discussions. We heard your feedback that it was tricky to find the specific resource where the conversation was taking place, causing unnecessary confusion. Moving forward, use the new Messages section in the top navigation bar to keep all your discussions in one place.
Your coaching program content has a new URL. If you previously bookmarked your coaching path in your browser, you’ll notice that the saved link now automatically redirects you to the Torch Home dashboard, where you’ll access all your content moving forward. We recommend updating your bookmark to the new page.
