360 Feedback is an opportunity at the start of coaching to reflect on your leadership and invite your manager and colleagues to provide feedback on your strengths and growth areas. The insights will help you identify what you want to focus on with your coach.
Note: This article is for 360 Feedback. Coaching partnerships started before September 15, 2025 use the 360 assessment instead.
Reflect on your leadership
1. You’ll typically complete your 360 Feedback soon after matching with your coach or completing your first meeting. From the Home dashboard, navigate to the Action items section. Under “Reflect on your leadership”, click Complete task.
2. Click Start. You’ll be introduced to the core concept of leadership capacities, the key skills and mindsets that are important for effective leadership. Click Next.
As a back-drop for your self-reflection, you’ll learn about the main leadership capacities your organization has selected for your coaching program, including what each capacity means and examples of what they might look like in action.
Click Next to review each one.
3. Now it’s time to start your self-reflection. You’ll be asked about your leadership strengths and challenges, and what’s happening in your organization that might be affecting your ability to have influence or drive impact.
Answer each question, including specific examples as much as possible. As you write your responses, an AI feedback evaluator will provide guidance along the way to encourage you to provide richer, more detailed reflections.
You can also click Improve this response with AI within the text box if you’d like help with your reflection.
When you’re done, click Submit.
4. You’re now ready to invite your colleagues to weigh in. Click Continue.
Invite colleagues to provide feedback
1. Enter your manager’s email, then click Send invitation for feedback.
2. Next you’ll invite colleagues from a mix of roles and perspectives to provide feedback on your current leadership. Enter your colleague’s email and choose their relationship to you from the dropdown. Your options include:
Board Member - A person who serves on the board of directors for your organization.
Cross-Functional Partner - Someone you collaborate with who is part of another team or department. They are not necessarily in a similar role as you or at the same leadership level.
Direct Report - A person who reports to you. As this person’s manager, you oversee their work performance. If you’re an Individual Contributor, you typically will not have any direct reports.
Manager’s Manager - The person your manager reports to. At your company, this person might be called your skip-level manager.
Peer - A person who is at the same leadership level or in the same position as you at your company. A peer may or may not be a pat of your same team or department.
Other - Anyone who doesn’t fit into any of the previous role options.
Then click Add to invite list.
Repeat this step for each colleague you want to request feedback from. For the most insightful feedback, invite colleagues from a variety of different roles.
Note: To protect everyone’s privacy, your 360 Feedback results won’t be released until you’ve received at least 5 responses. We recommend inviting more than 5 people to participate to ensure you meet this minimum requirement.
3. Once you’ve added all your colleagues to the Invite list, click Send invitations.
Torch Tip: While you’re waiting for the results, you can check the status of your feedback invitations by clicking 360 Feedback in the “Learning tools” section of your Home dashboard. From there you can also invite more colleagues up until your results are released.
