Request Colleague Feedback

Article Summary

The Colleague Feedback feature allows you to ask your colleagues about the growth they’ve seen in you at work since you’ve started meeting with your Torch coach. The colleagues you invite to participate will complete a brief survey designed by Torch’s Behavioral Science team to be intuitive and actionable, so you have clear guidance on what’s working and where you should focus next.

Want to give your colleagues a personalized heads up that you’ll be requesting their feedback? Check out our customizable email template below.

NOTE: Only you and your coach can see your colleagues’ feedback. Torch will provide group trends to your organization, but no one’s personal data from the survey is identifiable.

From the Home dashboard, navigate to the Action items section. Under the “Receive feedback from colleagues” task, click Complete task.

TORCH TIP: If you’re participating in a 6-month coaching program, you’ll be prompted to request feedback from colleagues once at the month 5 mark. In a 12-month program, you’ll be prompted to request feedback in month 5 and again at the month 9 mark.

Under Invitations, enter the email address of the colleague you want to request feedback from. Choose their relationship to you from the Role dropdown menu, then click Add to invite list.

If you previously invited colleagues to provide 360 assessment feedback, the same people will be automatically suggested to provide you with colleague feedback. You can click the Add button next to their name to instantly add them to the invite list.

Repeat the relevant action for each additional colleague you want to request feedback from.

TORCH TIP: While you can request feedback from as few as one person, we recommend requesting feedback from 2-6 colleagues for the most impactful results. Ideally you should invite colleagues who can provide constructive feedback based on frequent experience working with you, including your manager.

Once you’re done adding your colleagues to the Invitations list, click Send invitations.

After your invited colleagues have completed the feedback survey on your behalf, follow these steps to view their responses.

NOTE: While awaiting or after receiving feedback, you can use the “Invite more colleagues” option if you want to request feedback from additional people. To do so, from the Home dashboard, navigate to the Learning tools section and click Colleague feedback under Growth activities. This option will be available until your coaching engagement end date or, for 12-month programs, the next time a “Receive feedback from colleagues” action item is launched within your engagement.

Additional Guidance: If you want to send this personal heads up message to multiple colleagues at one time, change the greeting to something more generic (such as “Hi there” or “Good morning”) and consider using the BCC feature in your email to ensure the recipients cannot see who else received the email.
