Invite Colleagues to Provide 360 Feedback

Article Summary

Once you complete your 360 self-assessment, the next step is to invite colleagues from a variety of roles and perspectives to assess your leadership qualities.

TORCH TIP: Want to give your colleagues a personalized heads up that you’ll be requesting their feedback? Check out our library of customizable email templates below.

Step 1

From the Home dashboard, navigate to the Action items section. Under the “Invite colleagues to provide feedback” task, click Complete task.

Step 2

In the Invitations section, enter your colleague's email address and choose their relationship to you from the dropdown menu. Click Add to invite list

Add Colleague to Invitations List

Repeat this action for each additional colleague you want to request feedback from. We recommend inviting a variety of colleagues, including your manager.

NOTE: Ensure you invite at least the minimum number of colleagues to respond, as this is one criteria that determines when your results can be released. The minimum feedback requirement is typically set to 5 colleagues, but may be different based on your organization's preference. Inviting at least five colleagues is ideal for a few reasons: to get a good cross-section of team members in different roles, for richer and more thorough feedback, and to preserve the anonymity of feedback providers.

Step 3

Once you've added your colleagues to the Invitations list, click Send invitations.

Preview and Send

Add a personal introduction to the invitation if desired.

TORCH TIP: If you'd like to personalize different messages for different colleagues, you can invite colleagues individually and add a unique personal introduction to each invitation.

Click Send.

Send Invitations(1)

Step 4

In the meantime while you're waiting for the results, you can view the status of your 360 feedback requests.

NOTE: You can continue to invite colleagues to provide feedback until your 360 results are released. Once the results have been released, you will not be able to receive or request additional feedback.

You’ll receive two types of feedback requests:

  1. 360 Leadership Assessment Feedback - A request for you to complete this assessment of my leadership behaviors will be sent [Update depending on when you’re sending: "“towards the beginning of the coaching program” / “later today” / “in the next few days”]. It’s meant to help me discover insights about myself and pinpoint the highest value areas of behavioral change I should focus on during coaching.

  2. Peer Feedback - This feedback is requested several months into the coaching program and will ask about the growth you’ve seen in my at work since I’ve started meeting with my Torch coach. [If you’re participating in a 12-month coaching program, consider adding an additional sentence to clarify the request frequency: “You will receive a request for this type of feedback twice during the 12-month program, once around month 5 and once around month 9.”]

Please be assured that your feedback will be strictly confidential between me and my coach. It’s important to note that any written feedback you submit will be delivered verbatim and may be shared alongside your name, depending on the request type.
